Volunteering at FYI... There are many exciting opportunities available for volunteering at Family & Youth Initiatives. Below you will find the different divisions of FYI and the types of positions available for volunteering. Volunteer Opportunities
Capital Campaign - Help us raise money to buy our building. Details to come...
Auction Preparation - Help gather items and create baskets for various auctions.
Craft Show - Help us prepare for our annual craft show by contacting sponsors, making signs, contacting vendors, and helping out on the day of the craft show.
Mother's Day Flowers - Come in to the FYI main office on the Friday before Mother's Day and help assemble flower bouquets and vases for individual sale or church orders.
Baby Bottle Boomerang - Help coordinate this fundraising program at local churches. You can help by contacting churches, delivering empty baby bottles, and/or picking up full baby bottles.

| Volunteer Opportunities Sorting and Folding Baby Clothes - We receive lots of clothes at the Women's Network. This position involves sorting through donated clothes to make sure they are not severely torn or stained, separating into the different seasons, folding the clothes and putting into totes or in the Baby Store.
Mending and Cleaning Baby Clothes - Sometimes stains can be easily removed or clothes can be mended to allow for a child to get ample use out of them. This position would be responsible for cleaning and mending these types of clothes.
Administrative - This position includes answering phones, setting appointments, and general office duties.
Mentoring Clients - This position includes meeting one on one with clients who come to the Women's Network in need of our services. Duties include administering pregnancy tests, mentoring clients in the areas of pregnancy and other options, making healthy choices in the areas of relationships, parenting, and setting goals.
Running the Baby Store - Helping clients choose baby items and keeping a log of client purchases.
Cleaning - This position includes general housekeeping duties, such as, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, and cleaning bathrooms.

| Volunteer Opportunities Sponsor a Neighborhood Coffee - Sponsor a neighborhood coffee at your home by inviting friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to allow for open discussion about the prescription drug abuse epidemic and what you can do as a community to win the battle against it.
Attend Monthly Prescription Drug Abuse Coalition Meeting - Meeting are held the first Thursday of every month from 3:00-4:30 pm at Family & Youth Initiatives in New Carlisle.
Administer Drug Tests - Help us administer random drug tests to five students at participating schools each month.

| Volunteer Opportunities Mentor A Child - 1 Church - 1 Child - 1 Hour a Week / Make a difference in the life of one elementary school-aged child one hour each week with gift of mentoring. Play a game, work on school work, and talk about what's going on in their life. Mentoring is available at New Carlisle Elementary, Park Layne Elementary, and Donnlesville Elementary.
